After the death of my first partner I went into a very deep depression. We were only together for an amazing 4 1/2 years, and when he died at just 56 years of age I was thrown into a tailspin the likes of which I had never experienced and was not equipped to handle. It took 5 years and many types of therapies until I finally came out of that dark forest of grief and began to see how truly blessed I had been to have loved like that. This painting represents that moment.
