This image was inspired by a black and white photo in a magazine. I love Michelangelo and the way his paintings reflect the same power that his sculptures exude. My goal in this image was for a very sculptural feel that represented the strength of this male figure. The background surrounds him, like water, and the use of a range of blues and violets that contrast the skin colors accentuates the figure, making him even more statuesque.
