Greg and I met in 2011 at a party in Honolulu that I had been reluctant to attend. I was emerging from a dark period in my life and needed to meet new people. Greg had close friends in Hawaii that he had been visiting regularly for over 20 years and it was his hanai (unofficially adopted) brother who was hosting the party. I felt a sense of familiarity and comfort around him and this image was made on my first trip to visit him in San Fransisco. We were married in 2021.
