This is a portrait of our 2-year-old neighbor, James. My husband Greg and I have known him since he was born and have loved being Uncles and watching him turn from a baby to a toddler to a young boy. This is one of my first small portraits and the first time I’ve used raw uncoated canvas, which gives it a texture I have come to love.
