Frequently Asked Questions

Is all the art original?

Yes. This online gallery features work created by George Evan Davis. Unless a piece has already been sold or is in a private collection, it is available to purchase.

What do I do if I find a piece I love but can’t quite afford it?

I want the world to be surrounded by art, so that’s why we offer high quality prints that are color matched to reproduce the original as closely as possible. Currently only 5”x7” and 8”x10”paper prints are available. However, soon you will have the option of Gicleé prints in larger sizes. Size options and prices are provided in the pull-down menus on the individual paintings product page.

What is a Gicleé print?

Gicleé (pronounced “zhee-clay”) is a French term meaning “to spray”, referring to how an inkjet printer works and how gicleé prints are usually produced. These large format inkjet printers use small spraying devices that can both match color and apply ink precisely, resulting in an extremely high-end reproduction of the original painting. While gicleé prints can be reproduced on a variety of material, those from George Evan Art are printed on archival quality canvas.

Is there a return policy or satisfaction guarantee?

Yes there is. If you are not satisfied with the original painting or art print you purchased, you may return the art for a compete refund within 14 days from the date of purchase. The art in question must be returned in good condition in a reasonable and timely manner. After it is received we will inspect the item and, if it is in acceptable condition, refund the purchase price via the platform used for the original purchase. Any request to return a product after 14 days from date of purchase will not qualify for a refund. Please contact us by email at georgeevanart@gmail.com or by phone at (808) 349-1497 if you have any questions or concerns.

How is the artwork authenticated or certified?

Each original piece is sent to you with a certificate of authenticity. It is signed by the artist so that you can match the signatures on the certificate to that on the painting. It also includes a reproduction of the painting so that you know which painting the certificate is connected to. It will also include details of the painting such as the medium, the pallet range, and/or a history of how or why the painting was created.

How do I determine the price of the painting or print?

When you select a painting from the Gallery Page, you will be directed to that painting’s Product Page. You will see the painting in various room settings and read the artists description of the piece. Each Product Page has a pull-down menu where you can select either the original painting or prints on paper (Gicleé prints will be available soon). Make your selection and the price will appear above the menu.

Are there shipping costs?

Shipping costs to the mainland U.S. are included in the price of the piece. However, there may be additional charges for oversized pieces, shipping internationally, or expedited shipping. Please keep in mind that original paintings ship from Hawaii, USA, so next-day-delivery is not an option. We will provide tracking information so you will know when to expect your art.

How do I know what the painting will look like in my space?

If you’d like to see how a specific painting would look on a wall in your home or office, simply send us a photo via email at georgeevanart@gmail.com and we will send you a photo of that painting sized, framed and hung on that wall.

Are frames included?

Currently framing is not available. However, if you purchase a product or subscribe to our newsletter we will keep you up-to-date on any and all new products or services we offer. BTW…our plan is to offer framing options in the near future.

If I buy an original do you still make prints?

Yes. However if you’d like exclusive rights, meaning no prints will ever be made from that painting, please contact us via email at georgeevanart@gmail.com or through the Contact page.

How do I keep in touch with you?

Anyone who purchases a product from our website or thru any special art print offers are automatically eligible to join our Private Collectors Group. That private Facebook page is where much of the direct communication with our collector family happens. We post behind-the-scenes videos, introduce new paintings, offer freebies and discounts, and promote conversations.

Do you accept commissions?

Absolutely! Portraits are our most common commission; George works primarily from photographs. Sometimes he feels that he is not a good fit for what you’d like to see, so there will be a conversation prior to accepting the commission. Abstract pieces are also popular commissions. Often a client wants a painting based on a piece they have seen in the gallery but requests a specific size or custom pallet. Please remember that original abstract work relies heavily on spontaneity– while your commission may be based on an image you’ve seen in the gallery it may not be an exact reproduction. Prices are determined by size, difficulty, timing and shipping.

Do you have any references?

Oh, yes! while there are a few reviews on the website, most of them can be seen on either the Google Page or Facebook page for George Evan Art.

Can I receive assistance or recommendations in choosing art that suits my taste and space?

Of course! You are always welcome to message us through the Contact page and ask for any assistance. We want to help you surround yourself with art so we’ll do anything we can to facilitate that.

Is there a payment plan or financing options available?

Unfortunately no. However, PayPal offers some of its customers the option to make 4 installments with no interest.
