Transition was sent to me, fully formed, in a dream about my dear friend Kathi who had recently passed. She was a great friend, a deeply spiritual healer, and my kumu (teacher) in the study of Ho’omanaloa, the energetic part of an ancient Hawaiian collection of practices known as Huna.
I’ve used both oil and acrylic paints, a mix that is traditionally a no-no for painters but is a metaphor for the distinction between this plane and the next. Letting yourself be drawn into the ethereal qualities of the white area reveals a mass of swirling colors that are, on first glance, imperceptible. The bottom area represents the fullness and color that is our life. However, there will come a time when we must pull away from what we “are” and transition into what we will “become.”
Transition is painted on a Gallery Cavas, it can be framed if you’d like but was painted to be hung as is. It comes wired and ready to hang.
