This image was part of a test for Study: Aligning Chaos and is a perfect example of how happy accidents can turn into meaningful images. A typical Hawaiian rainfall had just passed through as I unthinkingly swiped the canvas board with excess pigment. When I looked up there was a beautiful rainbow (my studio is in our carport and I’ve got a great view of the valley we live in). I hadn’t originally intended for this to be a painting but I took it as a sign and am now far more attentive to happy accidents.
