Abstract #8 is one of 4 pieces that came out of a 5-day retreat in New Orleans. I visited several galleries during my visit and one of the things that resonated with me were pieces that had a lot going on in them but also had places of calm…offering the eye and mind a chance to rest, to absorb what the viewer was seeing and feeling. I learn A LOT from our incredible artist/mento, Adele Sypesteyn, including tools to help me calm my typically chaotic painting style.
Unlike some of my art, this abstract piece was created with no deeper intention than to create a painting that made someone smile, a piece that resonated with the person who it is destined to belong to.
